Serious risks

• Injector leak / copper washer: Injector seals (copper washers) wear — causes diesel smell and possible misfires. Cheap fix if caught early.
• Dual mass flywheel: DMF wears — juddering on engagement, rattling at idle. Common on higher-mileage units.
• Timing belt + water pump: Belt every 160,000 km (BlueHDi). Interference engine — belt failure is catastrophic.
• Car is 26 years old — expect age-related wear: rubber seals, bushings, water pump, AC compressor
• Very high mileage (370,500 km) — expect suspension, drivetrain, and turbo wear. Thorough pre-purchase inspection essential.
